Jaw tension

At my clinic, I find that many clients suffer from jaw tension. Jaw tension can be caused by back and lumbar problems (possibly inappropriate posture), neck and shoulder problems, grinding your teeth, stress, whiplash, digestive problems, etc. Furthermore, poor dental posture or dental work after dental surgery or braces can also cause tension in the jaw and thereby cause tension elsewhere in the body. Craniosacral therapy and dynamic facial therapy are highly effective treatments for relaxing the jaw joints, muscles and connective tissue, as well as re-balancing the bones of the skull and face. I recommend relaxing the jaws both before and after major dental procedures to avoid tension in the cranial system.
