Fascial unwinding is a slightly more active treatment that is very well suited to releasing deep tension and old trauma.
Depending on where you feel something is “stuck”, we begin the treatment sitting or lying down. First, we examine the mobility in the area together, after which we open up so that the body can ‘unwind’ itself, which means that it performs small or larger movements, supported by me. The body ‘unwinds’ itself until a feeling of relief and balance is achieved, which can release both physical limitations and emotional trauma.
In many cases, we will then transition into a craniosacral therapy session. Fascial unwinding can help with, for example:
- Jaw tension
- Neck tension
- Pain in ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows
- Physical and psychological trauma
If you experience a kind of stiffness without knowing the exact cause, fascial unwinding can be a good way to loosen up the stiffness.
