Trigeminal pain

Trigeminal pain is a very painful condition.

It can be caused by an irritation or imbalance of the facial and trigeminal cranial nerves. The pain is most commonly located in the face, but can also feel like dental pain. The pain can be provoked by facial movements, touching, chewing, cold, swallowing and brushing your teeth. The cause of trigeminal neuralgia can be difficult to pinpoint, but it can be caused by a pinched facial nerve.

Behind the molars of the upper jaw lies the pterygopalatine ganglion. A pinching of this joint can be a cause of the pain. With craniosacral therapy it will be possible to relax the pterygopalatine ganglion joint and thereby alleviate the problem. Dynamic facial therapy can also relieve pain.
